VivaTech 2026: The Week Paris Becomes the Center of the Tech World

VivaTech 2026 takes place June 17-20 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, marking the event’s 10-year anniversary. And honestly, reaching ten years matters.

Most tech events either become painfully corporate or slowly lose relevance. VivaTech somehow managed to stay large while still keeping the feeling that something unexpected could happen around any corner of the venue.

Part of that comes from the mix of people attending.

Every year, the event turns Paris into four days of nonstop conversations between founders, developers, investors, creative teams, journalists, researchers, and companies trying to figure out what comes next before everyone else does.

The first three days are focused mainly on professionals, startups, media, investors, and industry teams, while the final day opens more broadly to the public.

You’ll see major tech companies building massive installations next to startups showing prototypes that barely existed six months ago. One conversation will be about AI regulation, another about robotics manufacturing, climate tech, developer tools, gaming, cybersecurity, or fundraising conditions in Europe.

Companies connected to the event over the years have included Microsoft, Google, AWS, Meta, Mistral AI, and Hugging Face. But some of the busiest booths are often the ones nobody expected before the event started.

The scale is also hard to ignore.

According to the organizers, the VivaTech ecosystem now brings together more than 180,000 attendees, 14,000 startups, 4,000 partners, and thousands of investors across the event week.

But the reason people keep talking about VivaTech after it ends usually isn’t because of the attendance numbers.

It’s because the event still feels open to discovery.

You can walk in planning to see one company and leave talking about a startup you’d never heard of before that morning. Some of the busiest conversations happen away from the main stage entirely - in crowded walkways, coffee lines, side events, or random introductions that were never supposed to happen.

That mix of structure and unpredictability is part of what gives VivaTech its atmosphere.

And unlike many conferences where everything feels overly scripted, VivaTech still leaves room for randomness. Side events appear overnight. Conversations continue outside the venue until late evening. Some of the best networking happens accidentally.
